Poison Ivy Rash

Poison Ivy belongs to the family of Anacardiaceae which is a plant. This plant produces usrushiol. Usrushiol is known for producing itchiness on skin and this itchiness is the sole reason of poison ivy rash. The technical name of this rash is Urushiol- Induced Contact Dermatitis. A person who has got poison ivy rash may develop inflammation which is red in colour, blistering and bums that are not having any colour. A person may feel like itchiness and when he scratches then, he may develop reddishness. The blisters secrete a fluid but this fluid is not harmful. The poison ivy rash is continued for four weeks if left untreated.

Prevention

Poison ivy plants should not be burned as this plant becomes more harmful when blended with air. If a person comes into contact with the smoke of poison ivy plant then, he may get respiratory problems. Washing hands using good soap can help reduce the problem to a great extent.

Treatment of Poison Ivy

Corticosteroids can be used if poison ivy rash is grown, as with the help of this the rash can be lessened. One should not scratch the affected area as the problem of poison ivy rash can be aggravated. Blend baking soda in water and then take bath with this water, this is one of the best home remedies that you can use to treat poison ivy rash. Apply medication over the affected area as directed by your physician.

Impetigo

A staphylococcus bacterium is to blame for the development of Impetigo. The outer layer of the skin gets infected and children are most likely to develop this infection on their skin. A small scratch may appear at affected place followed by small blisters. A yellow fluid starts discharging from these small blisters. The top portion of these blisters may become hard and production of blisters is increased in different areas of body.

If a child starts scratching his blisters then bacterium gets an opportunity to increase its activity on other parts of body. Owing to contagious nature of impetigo young children are prohibited to touch or scratch their blisters. If you see these symptoms in your child then, you should visit a physician as soon as possible. A physician uses a cotton swab in order to diagnose Impetigo. Swelling, intense feeling of pain and weakness are normal things which may be seen in a child who has got impetigo. Sometimes chicken pox is followed by impetigo and the chances that your child gets this infection are increased during summers.

Steps to stop developing impetigo

Following are those methods that can be followed if you notice the symptoms of impetigo in your child:

• Good hygiene is an effective remedy for the treatment of impetigo. Children should be taught the benefits of good hygiene and in case they share their things like towels, clothes they should be discouraged.

• Antibiotic ointment can also help reduce the problem of impetigo.

So, these methods will surely help in completely removing the problem of impetigo.

Summary

Children are at high risk of developing impetigo but through proper hygiene and antibiotic medicines this infection can be removed.

Whenever you're exposed to the cold for a long time, you can get frostbite. I am going to put this into a little bit of a story, so go ahead and read up.

Imagine, you're out in the mountains. Freezing cold. You're climbing and having lots of fun with your friends. Suddenly, I don't know why, you lose your shoes and step on the snow with bare feet (I know it's crazy, but it's just an example). If you keep walking on the snow for too long, you'll get frostbite on your feet.

So, frostbite will affect an area on your body that has direct contact with really cold temperature. Your soft tissues will actually freeze and that's how your frostbite is created.

So, let's talk about what it looks like.

The area with a frostbite will get really dark. In fact some people even say that the area actually gets black, but in fact it's either really dark blue or purple. The skin around that area will swell a little, but there will be no blisters.

You won't see any bumps or anything, just a black area on your skin.

Now, I have to say that frostbite hurts like mad. Imagine a whole bunch of knives being stick into your skin and you'll get an idea. After some time, your skin will actually die and you won't be able to feel anything at all.

How do you treat frostbite?

When you got frostbite, you should know what to do with it to be able to get rid of it as soon as you possibly can.

1. The first thing you got to do is get some pain killers. The reason for that is that when your skin gets rewarmed, it will hurt like crazy, so just trust me on this one.

2. Then, after you take your drugs, go ahead and heat up some water. Be sure it's not too hot 104F is just fine.

3. Immerse the frostbitten area into that water and keep it in there for a short while.

4. Get some more water that's about 104F. If it gets lower than that, you need to replace the water again. Go ahead and repeat the process a few times (until you notice that the skin is again of normal color).

5. When you're done soaking it, put the frostbitten area into the water with some mild antibacterial substance to avoid infections.

6. Put aloe vera onto the area and make sure that the area does not freeze again.

Frost bites are pretty nasty to look at and extremely painful. That's why you have to be extremely careful to avoid it. If you happen to have it, though, then the tips I shared with you above will help you to identify it as well as treat it.

Shingles is a painful condition. It usually affects older people, but that does not mean, that if you're young, you can't get it. It's just not very common.

The crazy thing about it is that almost half of the world's population suffers from shingles over the age of 80. Pretty popular if you ask me, but how do you actually spot it?

Let's talk about what does shingles look like.

Usually, when you have shingles, you'll see bumps or even blisters that are filled with transparent fluid. Those bumps can form a rash around your torso, your face, your groin, your thighs and even your genitals. The blisters will last for a few weeks and then will rapture on their own causing scabs that will last for a few more days.

When the scabs are created, they'll need to be left alone. Don't scratch them, pick them or do anything to them. After just a few days they'll start coming off and your skin will start to heal. Unfortunately, shingles will most likely leave permanent scars.

Ok, here are some more symptoms that you'll experience when you have shingles.

Pain.

This is probably one of the most annoying things you'll have to go through. Some people say that they experience serious pain while others report they only feel mild discomfort. This really depends on a person how much pain you feel.

The problem with this pain is that even after the rash is gone, you might still feel the pain. It may actually last for a few months or even years.

How to treat shingles?

This is a serious condition that can cause blindness, sever pain or discomfort. That's why you need to always consult with the doctor for treatment. You should talk to him even if you just want to try some natural treatment for shingles, but, just to get you started, here are some ideas you can use right away:

Change your diet.

Shingles can be caused by allergies and most allergies are caused by food. That's why, if you know what caused it, then you can change your diet to avoid the symptoms from ever affect you again.

Vinegar made from apple cider.

This vinegar works sometimes if you place it on the affected area. It will ease the swelling, dry out the pimples and speed up the process of healing.

Tea tree oil.

Just like with the vinegar, just apply it to the affected part of your skin. It will help.

Shingles is really a disease you shouldn't fool around with. If you mess up when trying to treat it, you might have to pay for that mistake for the rest of your life. That's why, whatever you do, talk to a doctor.

Athletes foot is a really tricky disease as it's almost impossible to tell what it's going to look like on any person. This is because how it appears on the body really depends greatly on the chemistry of the person infected with it.

For instance, there are cases where blisters are developed on the skin, although they don't happen with every person. See, those blisters are mostly an allergic reaction to the fungi that causes the infection, so if you're not allergic to it, you're most likely not going to experience them.

<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-8387860023662664";

There are some symptoms that will most likely occur in a vast majority of people. Let's take some time to talk about those for a second.

Peeling.

This is very common. What happens is the skin peels in a flakey fashion and there are also flakes of skin falling off the feet. This can happen in between the toes, on the heal or on the sole of the foot.

Outbreaks.

You might experience some pustules, gross looking blisters (sometimes) and sores that will form on the toes, in between them or on te sole of the foot. It's very easy to notice them because the areas where those outbreaks happen tends to become really dry and itchy.

Early symptoms.

Of course, it's best if you notice you have athletes foot early, because that way, you'll be able to treat it quickly and it won't spread. You need to know that if you don't treat it early enough, chances are that it will spread to other areas of your body, so you need to pay close attention to what I have to tell you now:

Whenever you see your skin going red on your feet, no matter where exactly, chances are that you got athletes foot. If those red spots itch and you can't stop scratching them than you can be almost positive that you have it.

What to do now?

I know, your main question was "what does athletes foot look like" but I really can't let you go without a good solution to treat it. There are ointments available over the counter that will take care of it almost immediately. Well, not really, as this condition usually takes a long time to treat (up to a few weeks), but they will stop the itching and the skin won't be irritated.

Of course, before you do anything, it's always good to set up an appointment with your doctor. They'll be able to diagnose athletes foot early and provide you with tips related to treatment.

"what does athletes foot look like" is a very very important question to ask yourself, because if you catch it early, you'll be able to get rid of it much quicker and easier than if you don't. I urge you to remember the tips I shared with you above and you'll be just fine.
