What does frostbite look like

Whenever you're exposed to the cold for a long time, you can get frostbite. I am going to put this into a little bit of a story, so go ahead and read up.

Imagine, you're out in the mountains. Freezing cold. You're climbing and having lots of fun with your friends. Suddenly, I don't know why, you lose your shoes and step on the snow with bare feet (I know it's crazy, but it's just an example). If you keep walking on the snow for too long, you'll get frostbite on your feet.

So, frostbite will affect an area on your body that has direct contact with really cold temperature. Your soft tissues will actually freeze and that's how your frostbite is created.

So, let's talk about what it looks like.

The area with a frostbite will get really dark. In fact some people even say that the area actually gets black, but in fact it's either really dark blue or purple. The skin around that area will swell a little, but there will be no blisters.

You won't see any bumps or anything, just a black area on your skin.

Now, I have to say that frostbite hurts like mad. Imagine a whole bunch of knives being stick into your skin and you'll get an idea. After some time, your skin will actually die and you won't be able to feel anything at all.

How do you treat frostbite?

When you got frostbite, you should know what to do with it to be able to get rid of it as soon as you possibly can.

1. The first thing you got to do is get some pain killers. The reason for that is that when your skin gets rewarmed, it will hurt like crazy, so just trust me on this one.

2. Then, after you take your drugs, go ahead and heat up some water. Be sure it's not too hot 104F is just fine.

3. Immerse the frostbitten area into that water and keep it in there for a short while.

4. Get some more water that's about 104F. If it gets lower than that, you need to replace the water again. Go ahead and repeat the process a few times (until you notice that the skin is again of normal color).

5. When you're done soaking it, put the frostbitten area into the water with some mild antibacterial substance to avoid infections.

6. Put aloe vera onto the area and make sure that the area does not freeze again.

Frost bites are pretty nasty to look at and extremely painful. That's why you have to be extremely careful to avoid it. If you happen to have it, though, then the tips I shared with you above will help you to identify it as well as treat it.

What Does Chlamydia Look Like

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted bacteria disease that can be passed on to another person through oral sex, vaginal sex or even during birth. Now, of course if you don't have sex with someone that can pass that disease on to you, you won't get it. It won't just develop out of nowhere, but...

The scary thing is that 75 percent of women that transmit chlamydia have absolutely no symptoms of it present and over 50 percent of men that suffer from this condition don't even know they have it.

Crazy, huh?
Chlamydia is one of those sneaky little stinkers that you can live with your whole life without even knowing you have it. Can you imagine that?

On a positive note, you need to know that chlamydia is fully curable and the sooner you realize you have it, the sooner you'll go to see a doctor and the sooner you'll be treated and cured.

So what are the symptoms, you might ask?
The first, most important thing is that chlamydia hurts (when you actually do experience symptoms). If you feel pain as you pee, chances are you have it. There can also be unusual discharge from your penis or vagina, so be on the look out for that as well.

In order to be able to spot it, just pay attention to what happens as you pass urine. If you notice anything unusual like burning, stinging, itching or pain, that's a red light warning and a sign for you to go and have a chat with your doctor.

How do you prevent chlamydia?
If you change sexual partners often, you certainly need to get screened for chlamydia regularly. Fortunately, they don't shove an umbrella down your penis anymore and all you got to do is pee in the pot and take that to the laboratory. They'll be able to tell you if you have it or not within hours.

Again, this tricky disease can have absolutely no symptoms, so it's very good practice to do that test frequently if you are putting yourself at risk

How long is treatment for chlamydia?

If you're diagnosed with chlamydia, you really should not have sex until you're cured just to make sure you don't pass it on to someone else. Fortunately for all of us, the time that it takes to cure it completely is very short and can last from 48 hours to seven days.

Chlamydia is a sneaky little stinker. It won't show any symptoms at all, so if you are very active sexually or have sex with incidental people, just get screened for it and you'll be OK.

I sencerely hope this little article was helpful. It's not a very pleasant disease, but it's possible to treat it nowadays, so do not panic if you think you have it. Everything will be well. I promise.

What does gout look like

Imagine this: you wake up one morning and you feel you're going to die because your big toe is just killing you. You're thinking to yourself, "what's going on!" and uncover your foot quickly. You see a huge bump on your toe that's so painful you can't put anything on it - not even your sheets.

Sounds scarry? Let me tell you... it is.

That's what people go through when they have a gout attack.

Before we talk about how to treat it, let's quickly go over what does gout look like. There are fortunately many images you can find by doing a quick search over at Google, but let me explain this as well as I can.

Gout causes enormous swelling in the joints. You can literally see a huge, swollen, red bump around the joint that's infected by it. It usually occurs during your morning hours in the foot area, but it's not uncommon to have gout on your hands, fingers and other joints.

The swollen area is extremely tender and you absolutely can't put any pressure on it at all because it hurts so bad.

Why does gout even happen?
See, everyone has a certain type of acid in their body. It's called uric acid and usually you can't even feel it's there. Unfortunately, sometimes people have problems processing that acid in their body and it starts to build up in the joints. That's how gout gets developed.

How to treat gout?
There are a few things you can do to stop uric acid from building up and thus stop the pain:

1. You need to drink lots of water. Obviously, you want to clear out your system and get rid of all the harmful substances that cause the pain. That's why you should drink at least four glasses of water with each one of your meals.

2. Change your diet. This is also very important. You probably don't know that eating lots of protein will cause the acid we talked about above to build up, and when it does... Just try to limit the amount of protein you take in.

3. Don't drink alcohol. See, alcohol also increases the level of uric acid in your system, so don't drink it too much.

4. Try to lose weight. This might seem a little unrelated, but losing weight if you are overweight helps to regulate your system a little better which will result in you having a more balanced chemistry in your body.

Gout is a pain. Literally. You should do everything you can to not only be able to spot it early, but also to take care of it. Again, my hope is that you take these tips to heart and put them into action.
