What Does Pink Eye Look Like

I am pretty sure you know what pink eye is, but in case you don't, here's a little something for you. Pink eye, also known as conjunctivitis is a very common eye disease that causes your eyes to be irritated and red. It's not dangerous in any way, although it can be really annoying as it itches like crazy.

You know when your eye itches and you just can't stop robbing it? Imagine having that all the time. It stinks.

So, what does it look like?

Pink eye is really easy to spot. What usually happens is your eye will turn very red at first and start itching. That's because the bacteria or viruses that cause it are stored inside the conjunctiva. Of course you really should not rob it as it won't do any good and can cause additional inflammation which can be quite severe to your eye.

One thing to remember is that pink eye does not cause any swelling usually, so you won't see any changes in the size of your eye. It will also not cause your eyelids to get red. Just the eyeball itself.

You remember when your mom used to tell you that you shouldn't share your towel with anyone? Or that you shouldn't rob your eyes with dirty hands? Or when she asked you to wash your hands all the time?

Well, all those things will prevent pink eye from happening. It's an ailment that's caused by viruses and bacteria, so as long as you can make sure that no unwanted bacteria gets close to your eyes, you should be fine.

Sometimes, if you pink eye is caused by an allergy, you will have to go to a drug store and get some over the counter medication that you'll be able to apply to your infected eye. That medication can come in the form of drops or paste that you'll have to put on and wear for a few days.

Pink eye is really easy to treat. It's also not dangerous to your overall health, but be sure to take care of it if you think you have it, because it's much better in general to not have to deal with constant itchiness and bacteria in your eye. Trust me on this. I had pink eye in the past and it stings and itches like mad! On top of that it looks a bit scarry as your eye actually turns red.

You never know what harmless bacteria can turn into with time, so make the effort to get rid of it. It will pay off in the future.

What Does Syphilis Look Like?

Syphilis is one of those diseases that everyone used to be scared of. It can be deadly if not cured properly and is extremely contagious.

The interesting thing about this disease is that even though it is extremely annoying and can lead to death, if treated early is very easy to cure. The problem is that it's hard to spot it at first as it's almost asymptomatic. No itching, no rashes (until later stages), no swelling, no nothing.

So, how do you spot it?

First of all, it is very important to know that syphilis is only transmitted through sexual contact. You can't get it from sharing food, a fork or clothes with someone who has it, so the best way to prevent it is through having a proper sex life. If your partner does not have syphilis, you won't get it.

If you do have incidental sex, just go see a doctor and he'll take care of the problem for you, but on with the spotting.

As I mentioned before, syphilis does not cause any discomfort at all in its early stages. Although you might see some lesions on the areas of contact (penis or vagina), they tend to heal spontaneously which is why people don't go see a doctor at this stage. In the second stage of syphilis, you'll be able to notice rashes on your feet or your hands. You may see the rash on the torso or your face.

In the last stage of syphilis you may see knots forming in the joints which look like big bumps under your skin.

Although we have talked a bit about prevention already, I would like to talk about the one thing that prevents Syphilis from spreading and even cures it completely.

That one thing, oddly enough is penicillin G also known as Benzylpenicillin. This medication is fairly common and really easy to administer, but it only works if you apply it in a very easy stage of the disease. Oftentimes, one dose is enough.

It really amazed me when I realized that such a simple drug can take care of this huge problem.

Moreover as long as you pay attention who you sleep with, you should be fine as well. Having a permanent sexual partner (like your husband or wife) is a tremendous prevention tool for syphilis.

What does a mole look like?

Everyone has a mole...Ok. This might be a little overstated, but they are really popular at least from what I can tell. It's kind of hard to describe what does a mole look like, but I am going ot try anyway, so here we go.

As we all know, moles are lesions. They grow on the skin. Most of them are a little pigmented so they are not instantly noticeable, but they can be pigment free as well which, obviously, makes them stand out a little more.

Although we mostly see them on people's faces, necks and hands, they can appear almost anywhere on the body. It's not uncommon to have one on your scalp, armpit or even your lips or underneath the fingernail.

In most cases, unless they are placed in a strange place, they are not dangerous to your health and will disappear after a few years. Research shows that they tend to stay for about 50 years and then they go away on their own.

You'll be able to recognize a mole when you see it pretty quickly. They tend to be small and a little oval in shape. In some cases they are circular. They don't usually hurt or itch, so we tend to ignore them for the most part unless we notice one in the mirror.

Treating moles.
Generally speaking, it's not important to treat moles as they are pretty harmless. The only problem is that they may be just ugly and you might not want to have them. I mean, not everyone appreciates a big, old pimple right in the middle of their chin or nose, right?

so, how do you treat moles?
There are actually very many ways you can kill a mole. You can go see a doctor and they'll help you out with selecting a solution that's good for you. Let me just name a few off the top of my head.

You can have your moles burnt out.
You can have them frozen off.
You can treat them with creams.
You can kill them with ointments.

You can really do a lot of things to get rid of a mole. The good thing is that in most cases, the solution to get rid of your mole is going to be an over-the-counter medication available to you very cheaply at your local drug store. If you have a lot of them concentrated in one area, then you might consider paying for a laser treatment or something similar.
