so, What Does A Tick Look Like?
Ticks can be very dangerous and even deadly if you don't spot them and take care of them properly as quickly as possible. You'll easily find ticks in forests and various grassy areas, and when they bite, they are quite painless.
That's why it's a good idea for you to check if you have them each time you come back from a hiking trip or a camp out with your friends.
But... How Do You Spot A Tick?
A tick is a very small parasite that looks a little like a spider or a tiny fly. They have 3 legs on each side and a pair of long hooks sticking out of the front of their body.
When they find their host and attach to it, they use those hooks at the front to stabilize themselves and use their little mouth-like device to suck blood.
The crazy thing about them is that they can grow really big. I mean, don't expect a huge bump on your skin, but when a tick is done "eating" it will grow 20 to 30 times its original size.
Well, pretty much the same, but with a huge belly. Kind of like a beetle, although still a bit fatter. It has a round, full belly which is flat and relatively wide. At the point of being full, the tick remains in your skin, so you definitely have to remove it.
On with the next question:
How Do You Remove A Tick Once You Spot It?
This can be really tricky as you have to make sure that you get rid of a tick in its entirety or it's going to cause damage to your health.
What you can do is this:
When you spot a tick, take a pair of tweezers and get a hold of it as closely to the skin as you can. Now, you should be able to gently remove the tick paying very close attention to what you're doing so that you make sure that the entire tick is pulled out and there are not any parts of it still inside your body.
Sometimes it helps to pour some oil over the tick so that it slides out easier. Remember that it won't want to get out, so whatever you can do to help him out is good.
If after doing the above you're not sure if you got the entire tick out, the best thing you can do is go see a doctor. He'll look at the bite and make sure that everything is fine.
As I mentioned already, ticks can be very dangerous, although they are really small. Identifying and getting rid of it is not very difficult. You just have to follow the tips above and be careful with what you're doing.
